Practical skills in landscaping and gardening

“After attending the composting workshop last spring, I felt I could have a positive impact on the environment across my small garden. »Elaine France

“I really enjoyed the composting workshop with Aventerre. My favorite tip was how to improve what I was already doing by simply changing the type of compost receptacle I was using. I now use wooden compost which seems to speed up the composting process! The workshop and efficiency I got inspired me to collaborate with a local school where I now collect their compost every week, which helps me cultivate my garden! »Angeline Vincent

“I spent a wonderful morning with Ellie from Aventerre drinking chamomile tea from her garden and learning all there is to know about composting. She was able to answer all my questions on the subject, confusions mainly related to vocabulary. Now I understand the difference between compost and soil, as well as between the different bags found in the garden center. I also discovered that mulch is no different from compost, it plays the same role! Who would have believed it ?! Thanks to the information I learned during the workshop, I overhauled my entire composting installation and I now have a functional double wooden bin, next to my raised vegetable garden, as well as a chipper. plants ready to serve for the fall. Thanks to Ellie for all her great advice and for the documents emailed so I can refer to them later. I always forget what counts as green or brown waste and I often check your list. Sarah Hutchison
